She’s saved over 600,000 pounds of food from landfills, and given out more than a quarter million meals.  She had no idea what she was doing when she started - except how to cook. She was, after all, from a family of chefs and had worked in some of London’s top restaurants.

When she learned that Cincy kids were going without food over the weekend, she set up in a park to hand out meals.  Then she took it a step further, supplied them with crock pots, and taught them to cook, working with them at school to prep meals to eat once they got home.

We’re talking, of course, about La Soupe founder Suzy DeYoung.
