Next Generation Training Program // A concert:nova Community Engagement and Education Program

ABOUT 
The Next Generation Training Program seeks to equip graduates with leadership skills, self-branding and marketing, community engagement and other practical skills that will help students succeed. It will foster initiative, creativity and high-level musical and business preparation. 

At concert:nova we believe that artists and musicians can play a larger role in society, and hope by offering this course, we can build upon the traditional musical curriculum with the skills necessary to create one's own career as a multi-faceted musician. 


RATIONALE  
Graduates in music performance, with a traditional curriculum of ear-training, theory, history and a smattering of liberal arts classes, may not have the skill sets necessary to be a viable working musician upon graduation. This program will equip graduates with leadership skills, self-branding and marketing, community engagement and other practical skills that will help students succeed in an evolving industry.

 It will foster initiative, creativity and high-level musical and business preparation. With artists and musicians playing a larger role in society, this course can build upon the traditional musical curriculum with the skills necessary to create one's own career as a multi-faceted musician. 

OUTCOMES
Students will have solid experience in creating interactive, educational musical performances that benefits the public good. Students will leave with leadership skills, business skills, community engagement and other practical experience that will help students succeed.

Trainees will have initiative, creativity, a high level of confidence in both their musical and business preparation and the skills necessary to create one's own career as a multi-faceted musician. Trainees will be prepared to embark on a viable career in today’s market.

Week Four: Event Management and Production; Contracts, insurance, intellectual property, licenses
Week Five: Coaching/ Masterclass
Week Six: Fundraising, Grant Writing
Week Seven: Coaching/ Masterclass
Week Eight: Interactive Performances; Skills and Tips for Classroom Management
Week Nine: Coaching/ Masterclass
Week Ten: Refining Scripts, Dress Rehearsals
